(1953-2022)
Known to his loved ones as "Holly", Shaun Hollifield will be remembered for his generosity, his warm personality and his endless, kindness.
Shaun was the type of man who was always ready to make time for others. If you needed a chat, a laugh or a shoulder to cry on, Shaun would be the first to offer it – and the last to expect anything in return.
But most of all, he loved talking about music. Shaun lived for music. And if you lent him your ear, he'd happily enthuse for hours about his favourite records, his favourite gigs and – of course – his favourite band, The Who.
But that didn't matter. They were always happy to let "Holly" talk because his enthusiasm would brighten the room and his smile would brighten their hearts.
When he took early retirement in 2008, Shaun's workmates gave him the gift of a lifetime: tickets to see The Who at the Royal Albert Hall. Shaun said it was "the best night of his life".
Shaun was a fiercely devoted husband and father. He was always happiest with his wife and daughters by his side, whether at home or on our regular family holidays to Costa Brava.
These yearly trips were the highlight of Shaun's summer throughout his life. They continued for many years after his daughters left home and became a much-loved family tradition.
Even after his ill health made long-distance travel too difficult, his daughters would still make the effort to visit in the summer and spend some quality time with their dad.
Shaun leaves behind his wife, Karen, and daughters June and Rebecca. He will be loved and remembered by many more for many years to come.

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the belovèd's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.
